Tunisian Basic Stitches

Curious about Tunisian crochet? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to start! Explore the fundamentals of this unique crochet technique, which bridges the gap between knitting and traditional crochet to create beautifully textured fabrics.

Hosted by Vicky Lewdy, past Secretary of Crochet Guild Australia, this hands-on session will introduce you to essential Tunisian crochet stitches, helping you build confidence with this wonderful technique. Whether you’ve never picked up a Tunisian hook before or just want to refine your technique, this workshop will set you up for success.

Tunisian crochet opens the door to endless creative possibilities, from cozy garments to intricate home décor. By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills to start your own projects and a newfound appreciation for this versatile craft.

Please bring the following with you to the workshop session:

• at least two colours of yarn in DK/8ply weight in any fibre (bring 200g each)
• Tunisian hook two sizes larger than appropriate for yarn (5mm to 8mm)
• crochet stitch markers
• scissors and tapestry/yarn needle for finishing
• notebook and pen
