Why Choose Our Program

Alignment with International Standards

The competencies gained through the Crochet Guild Australia’s course are closely aligned with those established by the Craft Yarn Council of America (CYCA), ensuring that graduates meet recognized benchmarks in crochet instruction and technique.

What Sets Our Training Apart

While the foundational skills and teaching standards are consistent with international best practices, our program offers a distinctive approach:

  • Australian Crochet Focus: Training emphasises the unique qualities, terminology, and traditions found in Australian crochet, providing context and relevance for local practitioners.

  • Cultural Differences: The curriculum explores the differences between Australian and American crochet practices, helping students understand and teach both styles with confidence.

  • Local Materials and Techniques: Instruction covers yarns, tools, and methods popular in Australia, ensuring teachers are well-versed in resources available to their future students.

Why This Matters

By combining global standards with a uniquely Australian perspective, our course prepares graduates to teach crochet effectively both locally and internationally, while celebrating the diversity and richness of Australian crochet culture.
