Workshops

We're thrilled to invite passionate crocheters, experts, and educators to share their knowledge and creativity at our upcoming conference. If you have a unique technique, a captivating project, or valuable insights to impart, we encourage you to submit your workshop or presentation proposal for this paid teaching opportunity.

When developing your workshop proposal, consider the amount of time you will need to run it and the skill level you want to be working with. Below is a guide for the workshop formats and skill levels the Guild is aiming to cater to at the Convention.

Workshop formats

From micro sessions to full day workshops, choose the format that that best suits your topic: 

  • Onstage educational presentation – up to 45 minutes on a stage in general area
  • Micro workshop – one 1.5-hour session
  • Half day workshop – one 3-hour session
  • Full day workshop – two 3-hour sessions with lunch break between

Workshop skill levels

Most CGA members are at the intermediate to complex level, however the Convention caters to all levels: 

  • Absolute beginner – Never held a hook before
  • Basic – Basic stitches, no colourwork, introduces increases / decreases
  • Easy – Simple stitch patterns, colourwork and/or shaping
  • Intermediate – Involved stitch patterns, colourwork and/or shaping
  • Complex – Difficult stitch patterns, colourwork and/or shaping and a variety of techniques / stitches


Transportation & Accommodation

Transportation

By car: After taking the exit for Sunshine Coast/ Maroochydore, continue your journey towards Mooloolaba. Stay on this road until you come across clear signage directing you to the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort. There is adequate parking on site.

Transfer from the Airport: The Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort is just 5 minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport. If you’re arriving from Brisbane International Airport, the venue is 1hour 15 minutes north. 

You can choose a taxi, rental car, or private transfer service from either airport.

With direct access to the resort’s luxurious facilities, attendees can indulge in resort-style amenities while enjoying serene outings on the lagoon with catamarans, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, or leisurely dips in the pool. novotelsunshinecoast.com.au
