Mermaid stitch

Mermaid Stitch introduces a striking new technique you will not find in standard patterns. Designed by Jenny King, this workshop explores a clever double-up, two-step-per-row method that creates rich texture and movement without mosaic crochet.

It looks complex, but once you understand the rhythm, the stitch becomes deeply satisfying to work. In this focused session, you will begin a cowl while learning how the technique builds row by row, giving you confidence to continue at home.

Perfect for crocheters ready to stretch their skills and try something genuinely different.

Please bring the following with you to the workshop session:

• 1x 100gm hank sock weight yarn in a solid colour, wound into a ball ready to use
• 1x 100gm hank sock weight yarn in a variegated colourway wound into a ball ready to use
• OR 50gm 8 ply in a solid colour & 50gm 8 ply in a variegated colourway
• 4-4.5mm crochet hook
• 4 lockable stitch markers
• Scissors and tapestry/yarn needle for finishing
• Notebook and pen
