How to Design a Textured Square or Panel With Basic Stitches

Learn how to design your own signature square by using simple stitches. Create a square that you can repeat over and over for a blanket or extend as far as you like, using stitches that you already know and love. We will explore how to start a design and how to translate it from a drawing onto a template chart, working either in a square or in panels (spiralling rounds).

Please bring the following with you to the workshop session:

• A4 grid book
• 4 differently coloured pens
• Your favourite yarn in a colour of your choice. Recommended: wool, cotton, or wool cotton mix in plain colours (no heavily variegated, self striping with short colour changes or fuzzy yarns)
• Crochet hook to suit your yarn of choice. 
• Crochet stitch markers
• Scissors and yarn needle to finish
