Learn about the art of crochet upcycling with this beginner friendly workshop with Crochet Guild Australia Foundation member,  Jill Bradley.  In this creative workshop, Jill presents DIY Ideas, tips and examples for sustainable and chic crochet embellishment and shows you how to do it.

Crochet and homespun outfits have been huge summer trends for several years. From influencers sporting strappy tops to homemade homeware, it feels like we’ve gone back in time to the crochet peak of the '60s-'70s. But we’re also leaping forwards in terms of sustainability: it’s high time we slow down fast fashion, and upcycle old clothes with colour and personality.

The techniques for joining fabric with crochet so tired clothing or fabric scraps can be repurposed. Whether your fashion preference is Classic, Retro, Punk or Chic all can be achieved with these techniques. In the class will first learn and practice joining techniques then choose one to make or begin to make a small fashion item. Suited to those with moderate crochet skill.

When booking take note of the workshop requirements and try to pick up an "Edgit" tool to take to the class.  And don't forget to read your homework preparation for the class too. You can obtain this by clicking here.
