This workshop is all about creating a hat that truly fits. Guided by designer Rhondda Mol, you’ll work a top-down beanie in the round while learning the practical “hat maths” behind sizing, so your finished piece feels just right, not too tight or too loose.
You’ll learn how to measure for head circumference and apply negative ease for a comfortable fit, how to increase evenly to reach the correct crown diameter, and when to stop increasing to shape your hat. From there, you’ll explore how height changes the final look, whether you prefer a close-fitting beanie, something that sits at the ear, or a more relaxed slouch style.
Using your choice of yarn in either 10-ply or 8-ply, most makers will finish their beanie during the session. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how to adjust size and proportions for any head, from baby through to adult, and the confidence to recreate a well-fitting hat every time.
