Tunisian Crochet is a wonderful technique, often referred to as a bridge between crochet and knitting. It is one of Eleonora’s most popular workshops. Eleonora has extensive experience teaching Tunisian Crochet and has had many designs published in UK crochet magazines.

In this workshop, Eleonora will teach you all you need to know to get started with Tunisian Crochet and how to get the best results with this fabulous technique. From Tunisian Simple Stitch to Tunisian Knit Stitch and other stitches, as well as how to work interesting colour changes. The beauty of Tunisian crochet is that it produces a dense fabric, making it a great technique for projects requiring strength or a more solid finish. That said, there are many lacy Tunisian stitches too, and Eleonora will show how these can be created and share a wearable ‘wrap’ pattern.

Scheepjes yarn to create the project

Please bring the following with you to the workshop session:

    • At least two colours of yarn in DK/8ply weight in any fibre (bring 200g each)
    • Tunisian hook two sizes larger than appropriate for yarn (5mm to 8mm)
    • Crochet stitch markers
    • Scissors and tapestry/yarn needle for finishing
    • Notebook and pen
    • Cable needle (optional)

    Workshop note:

Tunisian Crochet uses a specific hook that is longer than traditional crochet hooks. Some hooks have a cable at the end. It’s recommended to go up a hook size to what you would normally use with yarn, sometimes even two hook sizes or more. Scheepjes is kindly supplying the yarn for this workshop.

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.
