Gain the freedom and confidence to design personalised garments tailored to your needs with Jenny King. Participants will delve into geometric shapes, design aesthetics, colour theory, and construction techniques applicable to crochet, knitting, and sewing.

In this adventurous beginner-level, hands-on class, explore the interplay of structure and creativity, guided by Jenny's five decades of experience in crochet design and her background in textiles and wardrobe consulting. Experiment with stitch choices, garment shaping, and colour palettes while considering personal dimensions and figure types.

Jenny King is an acclaimed crochet designer, teacher, and author with over 20 years of experience teaching at conferences worldwide. As the founder and former president of Crochet Guild Australia, she has played a pivotal role in advancing the art of crochet. Jenny's innovative designs, showcased in over 20 pattern books and numerous publications, inspire crocheters globally to explore their creativity and create stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Duration: Full day session: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Inclusions:  General admission for the day (Thursday, 27 June).
Skill Level:  Adventurous beginner – Can make basic stitches and work in the round (i.e. granny square). Has ideally completed 2-3 projects.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • 8 metres of lightweight, yet sturdy interfacing
  • fabric scissors
  • 10 different yarns with which to play and share
  • Assorted sizes of hooks from 3.5mm to 12mm (if you have them)
  • A favourite piece of clothing and any photos printed out for inspirational design ideas
  • Both a ruler and a tape measure

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.

Sessions run concurrently on each day, so please only choose one full-day session OR no more than one each morning or afternoon sessions per day!
