Dive into the world of freeform crochet and craft your own unique masterpiece to display proudly. Jenny will guide participants through the process of selecting yarns, colours, and stitch combinations to create captivating compositions. From beads to seed pods, the possibilities for embellishments are endless, adding depth and intrigue to your creation.

With no set pattern, Jenny provides guidelines and inspiration, empowering participants to express their individuality. This workshop fosters confidence and encourages exploration of freeform crochet beyond the classroom, unlocking a more creative approach to the craft. Aligning with themes of well-being and mandala-making, Jenny's workshop promises both artistic fulfilment and personal growth.

As a seasoned crocheter with over 55 years of experience, Jenny is passionate about sustainable crochet and pattern design. Her creations span from brooches to blankets, reflecting her love for repurposing yarn and crafting meaningful pieces. Join Jenny Whiting for an enriching journey into the world of freeform crochet artistry!

Teacher: Jenny Whiting
Duration: Morning session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Inclusions:  Jenny will provide a selection of yarns, beads and seed pods in addition to some large crochet hooks. Jenny will provide some workshop-related handouts on the day. 

General admission for the day (Friday, 28 June).

Skill Level:  Intermediate – Can read patterns and charts. Is comfortable making different styles and forms of crochet.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • A range of crochet hooks (3mm to 15mm) that you have on hand

  • scissors 

  • crochet stitch markers

  • yarn needle

  • bring leftover and textured yarn bits, and embellishments if you have some you want to use (optional)

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.

Sessions run concurrently on each day, so please only choose one full-day session OR no more than one each morning or afternoon sessions per day!
