Join Melissa Hughes at the National Crochet Conference for an exciting workshop on her Sculptured Waves Crochet Patterns. Participants will delve into creating Sculptured Waves mittens, mastering the unique stitch variations including the Top Loop Picot and Front/Back Loop crochet. Advanced crafters can challenge themselves by progressing to crafting the stunning scarf adorned with increasing sized waves. Melissa, a seasoned crocheter with a passion for pushing creative boundaries, brings over five years of pattern design experience, including her renowned dragon shawl. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the captivating world of Sculptured Waves and elevate your crochet skills to new heights.

Melissa Hughes, a dedicated crocheter since her teenage years, has embarked on a journey inspired by innovators like Bonnie Bay and Sue Perez to transcend traditional crochet forms. With over five years of pattern design under her belt, including the beloved dragon shawl, Melissa's recent focus has been on exploring the intricate shapes of ocean waves through crochet.

Duration: Morning session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Inclusions:  Attendees will receive a copy of the Sculptured Waves Mitten patterns and the award winning Scarf pattern.
General admission for the day (Thursday, 27 June).
Skill Level:  Intermediate – Can read patterns and charts. Is comfortable making different styles and forms of crochet.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • 50g of sock/4ply yarn (Solid or semi-solid coloured yarns are easiest to work with for this pattern)
  • 4mm hook or your preferred hook for sock/4ply yarn
  • scissors
  • yarn needle
  • crochet stitch markers

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.

Sessions run concurrently on each day, so please only choose one full-day session OR no more than one each morning or afternoon sessions per day!
