Join Shelley Husband at the National Crochet Conference for her full-day Crochet Clinic. Delve into alternative crochet methods and elevate your skills to new heights.

Participants will explore unconventional approaches to traditional crochet techniques in this interactive session. Through making sample square swatches, attendees will learn to crochet seamlessly in the round, create straight-edged rows, and experiment with mixing hook sizes and yarn weights. Break free from the constraints of conventional crochet and discover new tricks and techniques to enhance your projects.

Shelley Husband is a renowned crochet designer, author, and advocate for making crocheting easy and enjoyable. With a background in designing practical and innovative patterns, Shelley's work has garnered widespread acclaim, including winning the UK's Best Crochet Book in 2019 for her first book, "Granny Square Flair." With ten books under her belt and a thriving online community, Shelley continues to inspire crocheters of all skill levels to embrace the versatility of granny squares and explore new creative possibilities. Join Shelley in unlocking the secrets to elevating your crochet skills and confidence, one square at a time.

Duration: Full day session: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Inclusions:  Shelley will provide a selection of handouts at the workshop.
General admission for the day (Thursday, 27 June).
Skill Level:  Intermediate – Can read patterns and charts. Is comfortable making different styles and forms of crochet.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • at least 50 grams of 4 or 8 ply cotton yarn
  • a selection of yarn weights of any fibre;
  • 2/4/8 ply equivalent at least 20 grams each,
  • 10 ply equivalent and heavier at least 50 grams each
  • crochet hooks from 3 mm to 6 mm (and larger if using heavier weighted yarns)
  • scissors
  • yarn needle
  • crochet stitch markers
  • tape measure
  • notebook and pens, pencil and eraser or erasable pen
  • highlighters
  • sticky notes

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.

Sessions run concurrently on each day, so please only choose one full-day session OR no more than one each morning or afternoon sessions per day!
