Embark on a creative journey with Jenny King's Anatomy of a Swirl Jacket workshop at the National Crochet Conference! Unlock the secrets of constructing swirl jackets in six different captivating ways, from simple to intricate. Participants will dive into the world of stitch and pattern construction, exploring techniques to create personalized wearable art. Using miniature versions for 18-inch dolls, attendees will craft three unique swirl jacket variations, experimenting with armhole placement and shaping to achieve different effects. Jenny will guide participants in converting mandalas or antique crochet patterns into stunning swirl jackets, igniting their imaginations with endless possibilities.

Jenny King, an esteemed crochet designer, teacher, and author with over 20 years of experience, leads this workshop. Renowned for her innovative designs, Jenny has published over 20 pattern books and countless designs internationally, ranging from intricate beaded bags to swimwear and blankets. As the founder of the Crochet Guild Australia and former President and Director of Education, Jenny is dedicated to sharing her passion for crochet and empowering others to create their own unique projects. Duration: Morning session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Inclusions:  Jenny will have interfacing available for purchase at the workshop if participants wish to purchase ($10).

General admission for the day (Friday, 28 June).

Skill Level:  Intermediate – Can read patterns and charts. Is comfortable making different styles and forms of crochet.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • three colours of 8ply/DK yarn in a fibre of your choice

  • a 4mm crochet hook (or your preference of size for 8ply yarn)

  • scissors 

  • crochet stitch markers

  • yarn needle

  • tape measure
  • notebook and pen

Please note: This session will be delivered in-person only - no online offering will be made available.

Sessions run concurrently on each day, so please only choose one full-day session OR no more than one each morning or afternoon sessions per day!
